Mary Banks has been appointed director of the CU-Boulder College of Business Career Center by business Dean Steven Manaster. The Board of Regents approved her appointment at its Aug. 3 meeting.

"Mary’s extensive experience makes her a great fit with our needs and goals," Manaster said. "Her strong background working with the business community and students made her an outstanding candidate."

As director of the Business Career Center, Banks will establish and maintain strong relationships with regional, national and international firms to market the college and its students to employers.

Banks, who graduated from CU-Boulder in 1968, brings considerable experience from Columbia University, where she was director of admissions and recruitment for the School of Nursing from 1998 to 2000. She was executive director of Columbia Business School’s Executive Education Center from 1997 to 1998, where she recruited international executives to participate in Columbia’s programs.

Banks was Columbia Business School’s assistant dean and director of the Office of Student Affairs from 1993 to 1997, and previously was the school’s associate director of admissions.
