CU-Boulder Names Barbara Schneider To Be New Executive Director Of Enrollment Management Services

Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Phil DiStefano has selected Barbara Schneider as the new executive director of enrollment management services and admissions at the University of Colorado at Boulder.

The appointment will be considered at the Dec. 9 Board of Regents' meeting in Boulder and will be effective upon approval.

"I am confident that Dr. Schneider's extensive experience with admissions and her collaborative, consensus building management style will enable our campus to become a leader in providing high-quality enrollment management services to students," DiStefano said.

Schneider has served as interim executive director of enrollment management services and director of financial aid at CU-Boulder for the past year.

The new position includes additional oversight of the office of admissions and the registrar's office. The annual salary will be $102,000.

Schneider, a longtime employee of the University of Colorado, has worked in administrative positions for the CU system, CU-Boulder and CU-Denver since 1984.

In addition to serving as assistant vice chancellor for the office of academic and student affairs at CU-Denver, she has been manager of the systemwide Student Information System, associate director of admissions at CU-Boulder, interim director of public relations and publications at CU-Denver and executive director of admissions and records at CU-Denver.

Prior to joining the CU administration, she worked at Colorado State University as assistant director of budget and planning, assistant registrar and assistant director of admissions.

Schneider holds a bachelor of arts degree in history, a master of arts in education administration and a doctorate in administration from CSU.

Enrollment management services, composed of admissions, financial aid, registration services and orientation, is a unit in the division of academic affairs.

Academic Affairs directs the teaching and research enterprises at the University of Colorado at Boulder, including each of the schools and colleges, enrollment services, information technology services and faculty affairs, and offers more than 2,500 courses in 150 fields of study.
