Amanda Sturman

Amanda is pursuing an MA in Theatre and Performance Studies. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from Arcadia University (2022) and served as an Americorps resident teaching artist in the theatre department of a junior/senior high school (2023-2024). Amanda’s research interests include Theatre of the Oppressed (T.O), acting, and costume design. She has researched and implemented Theatre of the Oppressed strategies, including facilitating a T.O. workshop on climate change and working with a T.O. group to promote discussions about racial inequality on her college campus. Amanda has performed with Denver theatre companies such as Eleven Minutes Theatre Company and Bowls with the Bard and works as a costume designer at The Arts Hub in Lafayette. Born and raised in Colorado, Amanda is proud to attend a university where she can explore the nuances of theatre in her home state.
