The College of Music returns with an enriching selection of courses this summer

CU Boulder’s College of Music offers ample opportunities for current CU Boulder students, local middle and high school students, music professionals, and community members to immerse themselves in music and music education this summer:

Summer Master of Music Education

The Summer Master of Music Education (MME) degree at the University of Colorado Boulder is designed to address a variety of interests, needs and areas of expertise for K-12 teachers. Students working toward an MME degree complete 12 hours of study in music education, 12 hours of study in music and six hours of open electives.

Panoramic Flutist Seminar

While the Panoramic Flutist seminar is on hiatus in summer 2023, join the program for a one-day event for high school students on June 3.

CU NOW

May 31-June 18, 2023

CU NOW offers student singers and guest composers/librettists the chance to collaborate, explore, and actively shape a new work. Returning to CU NOW is award-winning composer Tom Cipullo, whose critically-acclaimed opera, “Glory Denied,” is one of the most frequently performed 21st-century operas.

Wind Band and Orchestra Conducting Symposia

June 4-9, 2023

For professional wind and orchestral conductors, these summer symposia—led by College of Music conducting faculty and renowned guests—strengthen conducting technique, rehearsal strategies and more.

Sphinx Performance Academy

June 22-July 2, 2023

For the first time in 2023, the College of Music and Sphinx Performance Academy (SPA) are partnering to provide a full-scholarship intensive summer chamber music and solo performance program focused on cultural diversity for string musicians ages 11-17.

Alexander Technique Plus Summer Course

July 10-14, 2023

The Alexander Technique Plus summer course—part of the College of Music's Musicians' Wellness Program—supports a wide range of physical and mental health strategies, combining elements of the Alexander Technique, Body Mapping, dynamic movement, mindfulness, and performance psychology, all in the service of overall well-being.

Summer Session

The College of Music offers a robust selection of summer courses during Maymester, Session A, and Session B. Any student may enroll in music elective (MUEL) courses regardless of major.
