Security Technology Services

Security Technology Services is a core function of the CU Boulder Division of Public Safety, responsible for designing, operating, and sustaining the electronic security systems that protect people, facilities, and critical infrastructure across campus. 

Our work supports prevention, visibility, and rapid response—helping reduce risk, maintain continuity of operations, and ensure campus spaces remain safe, accessible, and functional. We partner closely with campus departments to implement security technology that is reliable, scalable, and aligned with university policies, operational needs, and best practices. 

From access control and video management to intrusion detection and system monitoring, Security Technology Services provides expert guidance, responsive support, and long-term stewardship of systems that the campus community depends on every day. 

Access, Credentials & Door Support

Reporting Access or Door Issues

Physical keys, door hardware, or access malfunctions:

Forgotten Buff OneCard or Keys

  During business hours, access may be provided by building staff, building proctors, or supervisors, when available. 

  After hours, individuals may contact the Division of Public Safety (DPS) non-emergency line at 303-492-6666 for assistance.

Electronic Access Control

We support departments with access needs and permissions, system configuration and troubleshooting, panic buttons and alarm systems.

  • For issues regarding mechanical access (keys, locks, door hardware), ADA openers, and urgent after-hours security technology issues call 303-492-5522

 

Video & Monitoring Systems 

We support system access for Video Management Systems (Genetec) and CCure, including:

  • Camera requests and system planning 
  • Video access and review support 
  • User training for Genetec and CCure platforms 
  • Video ethics training and information security
