Security Operations & Communications Center

The Security Operations Center (SOC) serves as the centralized hub for campus safety, security monitoring, and emergency communications. The SOC integrates real-time information, security technologies, and communications systems to support informed decision-making and coordinated response. 

The Communications Center (Dispatch) provides 24/7 emergency and non-emergency dispatch services, while the Security Operations Center supports situational awareness, system monitoring, and coordination functions. Together, these functions support both day-to-day operations and critical incidents to help maintain a safe and secure campus environment.

The Communications Center

The Communications Center is the primary point of contact for campus public safety. Staffed by trained dispatchers, the center receives emergency and non-emergency calls and coordinates the response of police, fire, medical, and other campus resources to ensure help is sent quickly and efficiently.

CU Boulder safe app

  Download the CU Boulder Safe app

CU Boulder Safe is an app available for download by all students, faculty and staff. You must have an IdentiKey to access the app.

  1. In the Apple App or Google Play store, search for and download “CU Boulder Safe” app
  2. Open the app and log in using your IdentiKey credentials.
  3. Make sure to enable push notifications. This will allow you to receive real-time emergency alerts through the app.
  4. Add your phone number to your profile. This helps dispatch reach you faster in an emergency.
  5. Use the CU Boulder Safe app to access key safety features provided by the campus.
