Protective Services

Protective Services at the University of Colorado Boulder provides discreet, professional protective support that strengthens campus safety while preserving the university’s open and welcoming environment. Through proactive planning, situational awareness, and close coordination with the Division of Public Safety, Protective Services helps ensure the safety and continuity of university operations during leadership engagements, official functions, and select campus activities. All services are provided in alignment with university policy and in close collaboration with public safety partners.

What We Do 

Protective Services provides planning, coordination, and discreet support tailored for each engagement. Our work emphasizes prevention, preparedness, and partnership. 

Services may include: 

  • Protective planning and coordination for university leadership 
  • Security planning support for official functions and select campus events 
  • Risk assessment and advance preparation in coordination with DPS and CU Police 
  • On-site protective presence appropriate to the campus environment and event needs 

Protective Services complements existing public safety resources by focusing on coordination and readiness, supporting campus safety without duplicating law enforcement functions.
