A 1998 graduate of the College of Music, Slater got her Bachelor of Music before moving on to study – and eventually teach – literature. After a few years as a professor and amateur musician, a feeling that had been stirring since she was a teenager began to guide Slater in a different – yet familiar – direction.

Thompson Jazz Studies alumna Tia Fuller returns to the College of Music for a concert and master class the weekend of Nov. 14.
