The Center for Leadership was founded in fall 2020 under the direction of Chancellor Philip P. DiStefano. The center unites 30 leadership programs across campus to support programming and research. Leadership transcends all schools and colleges, as well as the Division of Student Affairs, student organizations and athletics. Aligning our leadership programs to seamlessly harness the expertise of departments throughout the university, the center stands apart from any leadership program in the country. Additionally, the center will serve as a hub for scholarship on leadership that promotes and encourages rigorous interdisciplinary inquiry while showcasing CU Boulder faculty research.

The center is a home for both leadership training and research. Programming and operations for the center will consist of leadership summits for all affiliated campus programs, annual, senior guest lecturers, executive leadership programming and a community mentor program. The primary goal of the center’s research arm is to develop and publish scholarly articles on leadership and leadership education, as well as support faculty, graduate and undergraduate research opportunities.
