ISSS will be closed for in-person services Dec. 18-23, 2025, and closed completely Dec. 24, 2025-Jan 2, 2026.
- ISSS will provide remote advising Dec. 18-23, 2025.
- Remote appointments can be booked 6 days in advance.
The University of Colorado Boulder, including ISSS, is closed for winter break from Dec. 24, 2025 through Jan. 2, 2026.
- Plan accordingly and take care of university-related business including ISSS advising and obtaining a travel signature prior to the winter break.
During the ISSS Closure
- If you are an international student or scholar and need to travel for a family/personal emergency abroad, leave as soon as needed. ISSS will communicate with you regarding re-entry documents via email once our office re-opens. All necessary documentation for re-entry can be provided to you when you are abroad after ISSS reopens on January 5, 2026.
- If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, access the CAPS Emergency & Crisis Care website and scroll down for Additional Support Resources available 24/7.
- In case of an emergency, call 911 to reach the fire and police departments or ambulance or rescue services.
Resumption of ISSS Services
In-person services will resume January 5, 2026.
- Once ISSS staff return to work, they will respond to emails received during the closure in the order they were received.
- Some ISSS staff may have taken additional vacation time beyond the winter break closure and may take longer to respond.
- The week of January 5th, ISSS will be participating in International Student Orientation activies which may also impact response times.
