Leadership Alliance National Symposium (LANS)
Each summer, students from Leadership Alliance summer programs are invited to present their research at the Leadership Alliance National Symposium. In 2023, the symposium will be held July 28–30 in Hartford, CT. In-person 2023 SMART student participation at this symposium is tentative.
Society for the Advancement of Chicanos and Native Americans in Science (SACNAS)
SACNAS is committed to encouraging students from historically excluded groups to pursue leadership roles in science research and academia. The organization welcomes all young researchers, regardless of their ethnic or racial background, to present at their annual conference. This year's conference will take place in Portland, OR, from October 31 to November 2, 2024. Details regarding registration will be announced as they become available.
Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minoritized Scientists (ABRCMS)
For 20 years, the Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minority Students (ABRCMS), recipient of the 2019 AIMBE Excellence in STEM Education Award, has served as a pivotal conference for community college, undergraduate, and postbaccalaureate students from historically excluded communities in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. As ABRCMS has expanded and adapted, it has also become a vital forum for graduate students, postdocs, faculty, program administrators, and others engaged in these fields.
