This past week, SEVEN hosted a surplus of first year EVEN Students in their usual meeting. Around 60 people were in attendance, sharing experiences and creating community around common interest. It kicked off with an overview of the mission statement of the Society of Environmental Engineers. SEVEN’s affiliation with American Water Works Association (AWWA) and Water Environment Federation (WEF) was then explained. The group then heard from Dan Freedman, PE, the student chapter coordinator and a process engineer for Metro Wastewater Reclamation District in Denver. The meeting moved on to discuss the upcoming tour of Boulder Wastewater Treatment Facility and the potential tours for next semester. SEVEN provides students with the opportunity to connect and explore applications of Environmental Engineering.
