CU Engineering Weekly Digest - Feb. 3, 2024

CU Boulder will be hosting the American Society for Engineering Education Rocky Mountain Section Conference on May 15-17! If you have research you'd like to present, visit the conference webpage to learn more about the submissions process. Materials are due March 3. 

Thursday, Feb. 8. 2-3 p.m., ECNT 112 and ECNT 312
To help facilitate more productive meetings, OIT will be available for drop-in training next week. There will be an OIT technician on-site in both rooms who will talk through how to work with and troubleshoot the audio-visual setups. 

The dean offers Faculty Fellowships to provide a one-semester, one-course buyout for faculty to focus on a new initiative in research and scholarly work or development of substantial educational materials or teaching innovation.

Applications are due to Robyn Sandekian by 5 p.m. Feb. 20 for either semester of the 2024-25 academic year, and should include a one-page description of the purpose and anticipated benefits of the faculty fellowship.  Recipients will be informed about the fellowship by the end of March.

Wednesday, Feb. 7. 4-6 p.m., UMC Glenn Miller Ballroom
3MT challenges graduate students to describe their research within three minutes to a general audience. The finalists will be evaluated by a panel of judges on their comprehension, content, engagement and communication. The winner will receive $1,500 in prize money and will have the chance to compete at the state and regional competitions as CU Boulder’s representative.

ProReady, the University of Colorado Engineering Council and the Alumni Engagement Team are hosting a day of alumni mock interviews to help students prepare for their careers.
