NCWIT to manage TeachEngineering
Effective Feb. 1, The National Center for Women & Information Technology (NCWIT) will be the new managing organization for the TeachEngineering program and staff.
TeachEngineering, a National Science Foundation-funded digital library, hosts more than 1,500 free, hands-on lessons and activities for K-12 teachers and has been part of the Integrated Teaching & Learning Program (ITLP) since 2001. It is a nationally recognized and trusted source for free hands-on engineering lessons and activities.
NCWIT, chartered by NSF in 2004, is also housed in the College of Engineering and Applied Science. NCWIT brings together change leaders from more than 1,500 member organizations to change the status quo in the computing/technology ecosystem, from K-12 to post-secondary through industry. NCWIT also develops and disseminates research-based resources, tools and programs to raise awareness, increase knowledge and help organizations implement the systemic changes that lead to more inclusive cultures.
