Undergraduates are encouraged to participate in research to prepare themselves for graduate school, professional school, or industry. There are multiple opportunities for undergraduates to be involved in research within the Department of Biochemistry. Consider reaching out to faculty through email or in person about possible openings in their labs. A list of faculty interested in having undergraduates undertake independent research in their groups for the Fall 2018/Spring 2019 academic year can be found here.
If you have any questions about undergraduate research, and getting connected to any opportunities, please email our Undergraduate Program Manager at firstname.lastname@example.org or be on the look out for information about one of our research orientation events.
Students wishing to complete independent research for elective credit, may enroll in CHEM 4901 Independent Study. Students may enroll for up to 6 credits of independent study in one semester, and departmental policy requires a minimum average of 3 hours per week per credit. To register for BCHM 4901, please complete the attached form and follow the registration information listed in the form. Please direct any questions to our Independent Study Coordinator and Undergraduate Program Manager at email@example.com.
