Student Assistant Positions

 

Undergraduate Student Assistant I

The Luger lab is looking for an undergraduate Student Assistant I- Entry/Semi-Skilled to work 15  hours per week.

Lab duties include performing protein purification, DNA binding assays using a range of biophysical approaches, interpreting results, general lab chores. Must be available 2 full afternoons uninterrupted per week;

strong interest protein biochemistry and chromatin organization, reliable; strong attention to detail; able to reproducibly perform repetitive tasks

 Minimum qualifications: Enrolled in Biochemistry or MCDB Major, some experience in a biochemistry lab, > 3.7 cumulative GPA, willingness to work for part of the summer.  

Start date May 2026, expected to continue for academic year.

Undergraduate Student Tutor

The Biochemistry Department seeks to hire undergraduate Biochemistry majors to provide tutoring for the Spring 2026 semester. The Biochemistry department is working to offer one-on-one tutoring provided to Biochemistry majors (up to 1 hour a week) for the Chemistry courses listed below:                                          

               CHEM 1113/1114 General Chemistry 1 and lab

               CHEM 1133/1134 General Chemistry 2 and lab

               CHEM 3311/3321 Organic Chemistry 1 and lab

               CHEM 3451/3321 Organic Chemistry 1 for Chemistry and Biochemistry Majors and lab

Responsibilities will include to provide in-person, one-on-one sessions, help student improve their knowledge of the course material, provide a comfortable and supportive learning environment, maintain consistent communication with the student, and maintain consistent communication with the Undergraduate Program Coordinator.

Qualifications: Minimum of 3.0 GPA, Minimum of a B in the tutoring course. Full time CU Boulder student who is at least a sophomore, passionate about course content and has the desire to share with other students, desire to teach/share study skills for students’ own success. Work with limited supervision.

Start Date: Spring 2026, expected to continue for multiple semesters. Hourly pay of $20.00.

Minimum qualifications: must have received BURSA award for the summer 2026 term

Start date summer semester 2026 to end in August 2026.
