Maurissa Moore
Academic Coach

Office Location: Woodbury 109, UCB 290

After earning my BA in English from Colorado State University, I taught high school language arts and coordinated capstone projects. I also advised seniors as they pursued their post-graduation goals and was particularly interested in helping them navigate the exciting and often complex transition into life after high school. The rewards of this work inspired me to earn my MA in Applied Positive and Coaching Psychology at University College Cork, where I focused my research on understanding how to improve the undergraduate learning experience through the lens of adolescent development and social connectedness. I want students to have the best university experience possible, and I believe that higher education is a place for students to not only learn academics but to also learn who they are and who they want to become. I enjoy coaching students as they explore their options, make decisions, navigate challenges, discover strengths, and develop the skills and confidence they need to achieve their personal and professional goals.

When I’m not working with students, I’m probably playing outside, getting lost in a book or series, discovering a new restaurant or brew, attempting to learn Spanish, or planning my next travel adventure.
