Abstract: 

I will talk about non-ergodic diffusion in physics and biology. I begin with the example of charge transport in amorphous solids. Then, I turn to the interpretation of single particle tracking experiments in biology. The unifying framework is the continuous time random walk. My discussion will include topics such as ergodicity breaking, correlated v.s. non-stationary increments, and scale-free disorder.
