Announcements
- (January 26, 2017) Note that homework #2 is posted on Canvas. Also, see the CA office hours below.
- (January 16, 2018) Welcome to APPM 4570/5570! Please see our syllabus (updated today) and course schedule below, and note the following:
- On many assignments in this course, we will use the R programming language; we will run R within the web application Jupyter. Both Jupyter and R are great (free!) tools for data analysis/science. We will spend several class periods becoming comfortable using these applications (so bring a laptop to class, if possible). As soon as possible, please download the Anaconda distribution, found here. This distribution includes Jupyter (it doesn't matter which Python version you download because we won't use it). Then, install the R Essentials bundle; instructions found here.
- CU is switching its learning management system to Canvas (from D2L). I've decided to switch to it this semester, rather than wait until next year. For our purposes, it should be pretty similar to D2L. You can log in to Canvas here. You should already be able to view our course. Explore! We will talk a bit more about it in class.
