Located on the first floor of the UMC, The Connection is THE place on campus for fun things to do with friends and family! As the only bowling center in Boulder, The Connection features bowling lanes with automatic scoring, billiards tables, video game consoles, table tennis and a selection of food and beverages available daily.

Cashier 
Monitors the facility and provides service to visitors. This includes receiving payments, issuing receipts, answering phones, greeting patrons, distributing equipment, completing paperwork, etc.  

Mechanic 
Services, maintains and repairs bowling equipment, and assists with maintenance and service needs in and around the facility.  

Student Manager 
Oversees the daily operations and the effective and efficient work of the staff. Provides support and coordination for a specific area: staff training and development; bar/concession operations; scheduling; inventory; programs and special events.

Connection Coordinator 
Graduate student assistant with oversight of daily facility operations, staff supervision, reservation management, staff training and development, general marketing and monthly inventory. 

CU Events Planning & Catering is a full-service event planning resource for CU and the Boulder area. They work with on- and off-campus clients to plan the perfect event for 10 to 1,000 guests. From intimate meetings and lavish receptions to conferences, lectures or social events, EP&C helps create truly memorable events.

EP&C Intern 
Serves as the first line of communication for walk-in traffic, phone calls and emails. Schedules rooms in the UMC as well as classrooms across campus. Handles small catering orders. Helps ease the workload of event planners by creating diagrams for events, supporting events and reservations scheduled within the UMC, and completing many other daily office tasks.

Event Support and Guest Relations 
Provides event support functions that ensure safe, secure and successful event and guest experiences. Enforces UMC policies, rules and regulations as established by the UMC administration and general Campus Use of University Facilities (CUUF) policies.

EMS Coordinator Assistant 
Scheduling non-academic events and confirms web requests in UMC rooms and centrally controlled classrooms in EMS and 25Live software. Assigns new web users their customer files, runs specific reports for regular data import schedules, and handles special projects as needed. 

CU NightRide is a student-operated program dedicated to meeting the safety needs of CU students, faculty and staff by providing night-time transportation to support a safe academic and socially responsible environment, both on campus and in the community.

Driver/Dispatcher 
Serves two primary functions: dispatching or driving. Drives CU Boulder students, faculty and staff within the Boulder city limits who have requested a ride. Takes calls and submits ride requests into the ride-sharing software.

The UMC hosts 2.3 million visitors per year and has 262,869 square feet of meeting, office and lounge space, open 117 hours per week. It serves as a multi-cultural center, a center for activism and community interaction, and the state of Colorado’s veterans memorial. The UMC houses the largest ballroom in Boulder and the only bowling center in Boulder and hosts more than 16,000 meetings and events each year.

AV Team 
Runs live sound, lighting and projection for a wide variety of events in the UMC for university-affiliated groups and non-university clients. Troubleshoots audio video systems and helps the set-up team to ensure that conference rooms and event spaces are functional.

Set-Up 
Provides set up support for the many lectures, meetings, banquets and conferences that take place in the UMC. Sets up tables, chairs, pipe and drape, mobile staging units. Cleans and maintains event spaces and provides general cleaning of offices, common areas and outdoor spaces associated with the UMC.

The reception desk is the communication hub of the UMC, assisting to support and maintain successful day-to-day functional and auxiliary business operations both in the UMC and on campus.

Staffer/Attendant 
Serves as the front line of UMC employees – greets guests, gives directions, answers questions, provides information and directs visitors to services throughout the building. Handles inquiries, key card access, radio communications and phone coverage.
