Pre-Transfer Advising

What is Pre-Transfer Advising?
Pre-Transfer Advising is a resource for students planning to transfer to the University of Colorado Boulder. We provide preliminary advising for prospective and newly admitted transfer students in order to facilitate a successful transition to the university.
We can help you:
- Explore majors and minors offered at CU Boulder
- Understand degree requirements
- Discuss an estimated time to degree completion
- Connect to relevant campus resources
- Identify appropriate courses to facilitate a future transfer
- Choose course options for first semester enrollment at CU Boulder
- Understand the applicability of your transfer credit
- Prepare for an advising appointment with your departmental academic advisor
- Review intra-university transfer (IUT) requirements
- Identify next steps
Meet with a Transfer Peer Leader!
Charlotte is our Transfer Peer Leader who is excited to share all the ins and outs about the CU Boulder transfer student experience. Talk with her about transitioning to a new campus, campus resources and opportunities, making connections with your fellow Transfer Buffs and more!
Make an Advising Appointment
Pre-Transfer advisors offer one hour, one-on-one online Zoom or in-person appointments. Please look for a follow-up email with additional instructions on how to access your appointment.
Please note if you are interested in a major within the College/School of Music, Education or Department of Environmental Design, you will be best served by contacting those programs directly (rather than attending a Pre-Transfer appointment). You can find contacts for these Colleges/Schools here.
