CU Women's Rugby was established 50 years ago and is proud to be the oldest college women’s rugby team in the nation! Since then, we have developed from a "social" club to a "competitive" club and everything in between. Though years have changed and athletes have come & gone- our mission remains the same: "to challenge and empower ourselves as women." Rugby eliminates our differences and brings each individual together to form a powerful unit on and off the pitch.
In Spring 2019, CU Women's Rugby received an at-large bid to the College 7s National Championship. There we experienced high level competition beyond what we have played before and learned so much about ourselves and the game. We won the Shield and left Tucson with incredible memories. Following that, in Fall 2021, our 15s team had a very successful season and went undefeated in league play. We fought our way through playoffs and earned a spot in the Elite 8 at CRAA Women’s D1 Regionals in Oklahoma, and we hope to continue making CU women’s rugby history!
