Main Student Recreation Center Entry Relocation During Renovation
Project Overview
To enhance the experience for everyone who visits the Rec Center, we are renovating the front entrance and lobby areas to create a more welcoming, efficient and modern arrival experience. The Rec will remain open during the renovation, and programs and services will continue as scheduled.
The renovation is designed to improve customer service, enhance facility access, and create a more seamless experience for students, members, and guests.
Improvements will include the Rec Center's front entrance, lobby, Guest Services area, and equipment checkout spaces.
The updated spaces will provide a more streamlined check-in process, improved customer service interactions, and a modernized user experience from the moment visitors enter the facility.
Construction is expected to take approximately 3 to 4 months, with the Rec Center remaining open throughout the renovation.
Events & Tabling Impacts
Beginning September 4, several reservable spaces in the Rec Center will be temporarily unavailable due to construction activities.
The following locations will be unavailable for the duration of the project:
- Studio 4
- Lobby Meeting Room
- Main Lobby tabling locations
- Alternative Tabling Locations
To support continued outreach and engagement opportunities, two alternate tabling locations will be available for reservation. Both locations are on the main level near the Climbing Gym overlook. These highly visible spaces provide strong foot traffic and central access within the facility. Tables will be provided and set up in each designated location.
Access Through the Building
Visitors attending events or tabling activities may notice temporary route adjustments. Follow posted signs directing traffic through the lower courts area when applicable. A walking path map and facility diagram will be posted here prior to construction.
