CU Boulder is aware that flyers were thrown off an interior balcony at Norlin Library on Friday, Dec. 13, at the same time that a “study in” was being held by the group Boulder Students for Justice in Palestine. The flyers called for an “immediate evacuation” of Norlin Library but also stated this was not a real evacuation notice, rather a simulation. Nonetheless, the fliers violated the university’s Campus Use of University Facilities policy on canvassing, and the CU Boulder Police Department is investigating in conjunction with the Division of Student Affairs.
In the early morning hours of Nov. 1, several buildings on the CU Boulder campus were vandalized. The antisemitic messages contained in the vandalism violate the university’s policies on free expression and Campus Use of University Facilities, as well as Colorado law.
We would like to express our condolences to the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs community, as well as emphasize the importance of supporting one another. Read more from Jessica Doty, Doreen Jokerst and D’Andra Mull.
