CLA Mentoring Program

Mentors: The mentors for the CLA Mentoring Program are Leadership Foundation alumni. They represent the private, public and non-profit business sectors, and a variety of industries within those three sectors.
Matching Process: The mentors and mentees are matched based on professional and community interests. In some cases, a match may only align in one of these areas. The more that is known about the student's interests and future goals, the more closely they are aligned with an appropriate mentor.
There are two matching periods per academic year - the first is in late August/early September (fall semester), and the second is in late January/early February (spring semester). Students and mentors are encouraged to meet three times each semester, two of those meetings in-person and in a public place. If three meetings are not possible, the pair is encouraged to meet as much as scheduling allows. Students must come prepared to the first meeting with their mentor by bringing with them a goal on which they would like to explore and work on over during the mentorship.
