Leadership for a Changing World
At CU Boulder, we’re shaping tomorrow’s leaders to address the most pressing and complex professional and global issues.
Our affiliated leadership programs are designed to hone your skills to better understand yourself and others, improve your communication, sharpen your critical thinking, and view challenging issues through a different lens.
From academic courses to experiential learning and co-curricular leader development programming, many of our programs provide a certificate or minor in leadership. No matter where your education or career may take you, if you have an interest in being a better leader—a better you—CU Boulder has you covered.
"My top imperative for the university is to shape tomorrow’s leaders. While participating in a leader development program is not required to be a leader, I feel strongly that our dedicated leadership education and experiences uniquely position our graduates to positively impact humanity."
- Philip DiStefano, Chancellor Emeritus & Newton Chair in Leadership

In partnership with the Center for Leadership and the Center for Asian Studies, we’re honored to announce Malala Yousafzai as the closing speaker for the Conference on World Affairs (CWA)
Malala Yousafzai began her activism at age 11 by anonymously blogging about life under the Taliban in Pakistan’s Swat Valley and its ban on girls’ education. After surviving an assassination attempt at age 15, Malala founded the Malala Fund to champion education for all girls worldwide. In 2014, she became the youngest Nobel Peace Prize recipient in history. Malala graduated from Oxford University in 2020 with a degree in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics and is a best-selling author and investor in women's sports.
Malala will close CWA with a powerful conversation at Macky Auditorium. We hope you can join us for this special evening.
Additional speaker announcements, ticket information for the closing event and the full event schedule will be released over the coming weeks.
