User fees

The Mountain Research Station relies on fees contributed by researchers, undergrad courses, and other users to maintain and operate its facilities. Individual students in an undergrad course do not pay fees directly. Instead, they pay via their tuition, which covers their food and lodging.

The Mountain Research Station uses a 2-tiered fee structure for internal and external users, as required by the University of Colorado. This structure helps support the station's long-standing mission of research and education, while offsetting the cost of repairs, updates, utilities, and administrative support.

You are considered an internal user if you are an academic or educational researcher, instructor, or K-12 group AND make payment via your tax exempt organization.

Reservations are required. Contact the Station Manager a minimum of 3 business days prior (Mon-Fri) to your intended arrival date.

Cancellations less than 2 weeks before your reservation may be subject to a 25% cancellation fee.

Payment: Non-student users will be invoiced after their stay. Payment is due within 30 days.
