Meeting rooms

Researchers and students staying on the station campus need meeting space for classes, team gatherings, and presentations. The station provides four main options. Not all of these facilities have WiFi access, so be sure to see the details on each individual space before making a decision. The MRS also has a portable sound system that can be accessed upon request.

Reservations are required. Contact the Station Manager at least three business days before your arrival at the MRS. Cancellation of a reservation within 2 weeks of your intended use may result in a fee. Users will be invoiced after their stay, and payments are due within 30 days. See user fees for latest costs.

Megaron

The Megaron is utilized for seminars, classes and other meetings. It was built in 1928, not long after the present site of the MRS was established in 1920. The historic log structure sits on the edge of Como Creek, in close proximity to the cabins.  

The Megaron features an outdoor deck, a wood stove, a pull-down projector screen, ping-pong table, and TV/DVD. The maximum capacity is 75 people. WiFi is currently not available in the Megaron.

Open from May to October.

Our megaron is probably named after an ancient building style, widely considered the architectural precursor to the classical Greek temple. Among other features, a megaron has an open, central circular hearth in the center. Originally our building had such a fireplace but it proved too unsafe and was removed decades ago. The photo below shows the orginal fireplace.

Kiowa classroom

The Kiowa Classroom (24 person capacity) is located directly across from the Marr Lab. The classroom features a pull-down projector and WiFi access, and is connected to the Kiowa Laboratory.

The classroom and lab that can be reserved independently or as a combined classroom/lab teaching space.

Open year-round.

The seminar room in the Marr Lab has a 15 person capacity with WiFi access. 

Private offices are also available year-round in the Marr Lab, with access to WiFi and a phone.

Lodge meeting room

The Moores-Collins Lodge features a large meeting room (24 person capacity). It is available for rent separate from the lodge rental and disabled accessible.

The room is in close proximity to the lodge kitchen and bunk rooms, and features WiFi and a pull-down projector screen.
