Culture and Community

The Department of Leadership and Programming works with campus leaders and units to foster a supportive campus culture, enhance leadership practices and advance initiatives with the campus community. Their resources include training, employee affinity groups and more.

One of the best ways to get involved at CU Boulder is through the CU Events Calendar and CU Boulder Today. The events calendar highlights lectures, workshops, performances, wellness and campus gatherings happening throughout the year; there is something for everyone! CU Boulder Today is our campus newsletter that keeps you informed about news, resources, and events.

Together, these two resources can help you connect and explore the campus to find meaningful ways to belong at CU Boulder.

Staff Council, Boulder Faculty Assembly and Faculty Affairs

Staff Council is a team of elected representatives from across CU Boulder that advocates for staff and research faculty, advises campus leadership, and fosters connection through policies, initiatives and community-building events. They are essentially staff's "voice" on campus.

The Boulder Faculty Assembly (BFA) is proactively building engagement by putting in place initiatives that provide every member of the faculty with the opportunity to have their voice heard and participate in building the CU community.

Faculty Affairs supports CU Boulder faculty from hiring to retirement by providing guidance, resources, professional development and administrative support that help faculty thrive at the university.

CU Boulder Athletics is the go-to source of school spirit and community. It brings students, faculty and staff together through shared traditions and unforgettable game-day experiences. You can cheer alongside Chip, our buffalo mascot, or watch Ralphie lead our football team onto the field. Employees receive discounts on season tickets as well.

Volunteer

The University of Colorado, Office of System Administration, allows university staff and classified employees to use short-term paid administrative leave for volunteer work! There are always opportunities to give back--at the university and throughout the greater Boulder community. Move-in and Fall Welcome, commencement, and the Basic Needs Center are a few examples of how to get involved.
