Colorado School of Mines (CO): The Colorado School of Mines Strength & Conditioning Department is actively seeking hard-working applicants for VOLUNTARY/ NON-MONETARY internship positions working with all varsity sports within our program for the Summer Term 2022 (June - August). Interns will have the ability to learn from a CSCCa Approved Mentor.
The intent of the internship is to provide a semester of hands-on training to prepare the candidate to take on the next level position in strength and conditioning as either a graduate assistant or full-time strength coach.
Interns are expected to participate in a comprehensive and challenging educational program, including whiteboard discussion and hands-on experience in the following areas: program design, biomechanics, football, and Olympic program development, exercise instruction, Olympic lifting progressions and techniques, plyometrics, speed and agility techniques, energy system development, regeneration methods, nutritional basics, leadership and facility and athlete management.
Internship responsibilities will include various duties within the Colorado School of Mines Strength and Conditioning Department. Hours will vary throughout the semester and may include early morning, late afternoon hours, and weekends. Previous weight room or athletic coaching experience is a plus.

Position: Intern/Volunteer

Description: Looking for a volunteer, or an intern who wants to work in exchange for credit through the IPHY department, in a biomechanics lab / sports and orthopedic physical therapy clinic. Our practice caters mainly to athletes of all levels with particular focus on cycling and running and triathletes. We have a full functioning biomechanics lab including Qualysis 3D motion capture system, 2D high speed motion capture with live motion feedback, Delsys EMG, HP Cosmos force instrumented treadmill and Gebiomized pressure mapping system for cyclist and runners. These systems gives us the ability us to collect precise data about our athletes to help support findings from our exams regarding their pain, or to help assess risk for injury or performance.
Duties Include:
· Assisting with goniometric measurements of patient during evaluation
· Assisting with data collection using various technologies in the lab/clinic
o Volunteer/ intern will be trained on how to place sensory on clients, how to run software etc.
· Assisting with cold laser treatments for patients/clients- we will provide training
· Assist with general maintenance of lab/clinic including taking out trash or clean up and organization of clinic

High School Cross Country Season Dates: A typical season is 12 weeks from early/mid August through the end of October (specific dates TBD).
Practices/Meets:
- The team will average five events per week between practices and meets.
- The team typically practices four times per week and will average one meet per week.
- Practices are 90-120 minutes in length and begin at 3:15.
- Shining Mountain is part of the Mile High League for XC and T&F and competes with similar and slightly bigger sized high schools in and around the Front Range and Denver metro area. As a result, meet location varies widely.
Note: The High School Cross Country Coach will have the option to coach the spring High School T&F team as well.

Throughout our internship program every student will receive individualized feedback and

or group exercise certification or are working towards one, but it is not required. Opportunity to
continue with the company following the end of the internship is a possibility.
