The McNair Scholars Program is designed to prepare undergraduate students for doctoral studies through involvement in research and other scholarly activities. McNair participants are either first-generation college students with financial need, or members of a group that is traditionally underrepresented in graduate education and have demonstrated strong academic potential. The goal of the McNair Scholars Program is to increase graduate degree awards for students from underrepresented segments of society. Any students who are current sophomores or juniors and have an interest in graduate school, please encourage them to attend one of our brief informational sessions on the McNair Scholars Program.

Please see our website for more information about our program and who we serve: https://www.colorado.edu/mcnair/ .  While faculty or staff may nominate a student, it is not required as students can access the application materials from the website.

STEM students receive priority but any major with a research-intensive PhD or EdD program is eligible. The application deadline is January 24th.
