EVEN Design Team Wins 1st Place at ACRP Competition!

Congratulations to EVEN Team IIB Consulting!

EVEN student design team IIB Consulting took home first place in the ACRP University Design Competition, held earlier this month.

The team’s design proposal won for its submission, Control of Deicing Chemicals at Airports Using Subterranean Aerated Gravel Beds, in the Airport Environmental Interactions design challenge category of the Airport Cooperative Research Program University Design Competition for Addressing Airport Needs. The selection was made by a panel of industry, FAA, and academic experts.  The Virginia Space Grant Consortium (VSGC) manages the Design Competition on behalf of the ACRP.

The winning team is composed of EVEN senior students Katherine Armstrong, Anica Bareis-Golumb, Miranda Behrens, Courtlyn Carpenter, Olivia Cecil and Paul Rastrelli

Dr. Christopher Corwin, EVEN instructor, served as faculty advisor of the Design Team IIB Consulting. The team will present their work at the Keck Center of the National Academies in Washington, D.C., on Monday, July 31, 2017.
