Along with providing educational and profession opportunities beyond the classroom, SEVEN provides a vehicle for students to be more involved in the community and utilize their engineering skills. SEVEN is passionate about bridging the gap between community and campus by providing meaningful community service opportunities to support local environmental efforts. This last semester SEVEN partnered with Growing Gardens to design and build worms bins for their new educational facility in Longmont. Growing Gardens is a non-profit organization located in Boulder. Their mission is to enrich the lives of our community through sustainable local agriculture. These worm bins serve as vital educational tools for their children  educational program, teaching them the importance of soil fertility for plant life and growth.

This project was made possible by the generous donations of McGuckin Hardware!

SEVEN also utilized the Idea Forge in order to complete this project with
a huge help from Josh Colyer, Makerspace Engineer, on how to use all the
major tools provided by the Idea Forge.
