SEVEN, as a branch of the Environmental Engineering (EVEN) program, is a resource for engineering students to connect and explore applications of environmental engineering. Through tours, panels, group activities, and other events, we are established around four main pillars:
Professional development. This entails networking with faculty and industry professionals, exploring options for internships and potential careers, and branding one's self through professional presentation and a well-developed resume.
Service. We focus on developing our engineering skills and giving back to the community through local, small-scale projects around Boulder and the surrounding area.
Community. SEVEN is a social outlet for students to connect with their peers and enjoy fun, communal events and activities.
Education. Given the interdisciplinary nature and wide applications of environmental engineering, we value the exploration of different focuses within the industry, including water resources, air quality, remediation, energy, applied ecology, chemical processing, engineering for developing communities, sustainable agriculture, and more.
SEVEN also is an affiliated student chapter with the American Water Works Association (AWWA), creating valuable opportunities for additional networking, exploration, and participation in annual competitions focused around the water industry.
The level of time commitment is flexible, tailored to what you would like to get out of your experience-- holding a leadership position, participating on a committee or project team, or simply attending a few events.
