Sa’Von Thompson, Engineering Education Operations Coordinator - ITLP
The ITL Program is nominating Sa’Von Thompson for one of their first peer nominated Staff Incentive Awards. Sa’Von has worked with the program for just over a year and has had an immediate positive impact. Multiple teammates recognize Sa’Von for his collaboration, integrity, ethics, and responsibility. One nominator said “Ever since joining the ITLP team, Sa'Von has taken on and created efficient processes for managing ITLL lab spaces. He is extremely motivated and dedicated to successfully managing both his work and course load, and it shows in the attention-to-detail to outcomes of the many projects that he manages. Sa'Von has a positive mindset, and it is a bright spot in the day to stop and have a chat and share a laugh with him.” Another nominator said that “Sa'Von was tasked with a huge number of projects to bring together this summer; I have been impressed with his ability to show up each day with a positive attitude and enthusiasm about making our spaces better. It floors me that this is Sa'Von's first year here! It feels like he's been on the team for years with the knowledge he's gained and the value he's been able to bring to our team so far. We're incredibly lucky to have him!" Thank you Sa’Von for your dedication to the continuous improvement of the ITL Program.
Ashley West, HR Coordinator - ADMIN
The ITL Program nominates Ashley West for a Staff Incentive Award. Ashley has been an excellent partner since joining the college’s HR team, especially over the past year. While she is technically at the college level, the ITLP feel as if she is part of their team. Whether it be position descriptions, salary negotiations, or just general HR advice, Ashley is always an advocate for their needs. She repeatedly jumps on calls to answer impromptu questions, even when late in the afternoon. She goes back to the table and negotiates further for our employees, and she often exceeds expectations by pursuing possible ideas and solutions on her own. This summer specifically, she helped pick up extra HR responsibilities for the ITLP team, without complaint or request for anything in return. Some of her extra work has been behind the scenes and less glamorous, but some has been more noticeable. She played a critical role in supporting the DMEC internship and summer bridge program, and she has been a true partner as we navigate a transition in leadership with the TE team. Ashley’s positive attitude is infectious, and we are so thankful for all that she does for our program. Thank you and congratulations, Ashley!
Rachel Sharpe, Senior Engineering Project Consultant - ITLP
The Integrated Design Engineering (IDE) Program would like to recognize Rachel Sharpe with the ITL Program for demonstrating exceptional commitment to the student experience, specifically in support of summer sections of Statics (A Term) and Thermodynamics (Augmester). Rachel went above and beyond to partner with faculty to ensure students in these summer courses received a robust and engaging hands-on experience. IDE is grateful for Rachel’s commitment to student support and faculty partnership, thank you Rachel!
