CU on the Road Bay Area Spring 2026

Bringing an online learning community into a shared physical space isn’t always easy, but when it happens, the impact is undeniable. On April 9, the graduate degree programs on Coursera from the University of Colorado Boulder did just that during CU on the Road in the Bay Area, California.

Program Advisors and Faculty from the ME-EM, ME-ECE, MS-DS, MS-AI, and MS-CS programs traveled from CU Boulder to connect with students in person, all of whom typically engage with their coursework fully remote. The event welcomed more than 40 students, and offered a unique opportunity to step into a space centered on conversation and community building.

Throughout the evening, students had the chance to meet their peers face-to-face, connect directly with faculty and program staff, and share their experiences in the program. Conversations ranged from academic interests and career goals to the challenges and rewards of balancing graduate study with professional and personal commitments. These exchanges highlighted the strength and diversity of the CU on Coursera student community.

While CU on Coursera degree programs are designed with flexibility and accessibility in mind, meeting face-to-face allowed for deep connection and meaningful conversations. We were inspired by the dedication and engagement of our students, and are grateful for the chance to build community together.
