CU-Boulder’s annual sustainability awards program started in 1997.  Outstanding efforts make CU-Boulder’s successful and challenging approaches to attaining sustainability possible.  The long list of awardees over the past 20 years exemplify CU-Boulder’s continuing efforts to be a leader in sustainability.

This year, there are five Campus Sustainability awardees:

  • Vince Aquino, Civic Achievement
  • Sarah Kauss, Outstanding Alumni
  • Amy Livingston, Outstanding Alumni
  • Athletics Department, Departmental Achievement
  • INVST Community Studies, Departmental Achievement

and two special recognition recipients:

  • Campus Dining Services, Partnership for Sustainability
  • Gina Tavenner, Individual Achievement

The CU Green Labs program recognizes the following four individuals and laboratories for their effort in greening their laboratories:

  • Christopher Sneary, Individual Achievement
  • Christina Smith, Individual Achievement
  • Bierbaum Lab, Laboratory Achievement
  • Biochemistry Shared Instrument Pool, Partnership for Lab Sustainability

Additionally, there are ten offices that have completed Green Office certification in the past year:

  • Environmental Design
  • Dining Services
  • HDS Occupancy Mgmt/Finance
  • HDS Residence Life 
  • CU Law Library
  • Baker RAP Program
  • CU Art Museum
  • Bursar's Office
  • Office of Diversity, Equity, and Community Engagement

Provost Russell Moore will open the ceremony.  Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs Gonzales and Vice Chancellor for Research Fiez will present the awards at a ceremony during the annual Campus Sustainability Summit.  Congratulations to the 2016 Awardees!
