Mesa Verde National Park Internship Program

The University of Colorado Museum of Natural History partners with Mesa Verde National Park each year to offer immersive summer internships focused on cultural heritage, tribal engagement, and museum exhibition design. This program provides CU students with a four-week (150-hour) hands-on professional experience, supported by a work, travel, and lodging stipend. Open to current and graduating CU students, the internships are designed to build practical skills while contributing to meaningful, real-world projects. For students in the Museum and Field Studies (MFS) graduate program, the experience may also fulfill second-year internship requirements, in consultation with program advisors. Together, this annual partnership reflects a shared commitment to inclusive storytelling, collaborative research, and preparing the next generation of museum and heritage professionals.
