Academic English

Take individual courses in the IEC’s Intensive English Program, designed to help you strengthen your academic language skills for university studies. Choose from Writing, Reading, or Listening & Speaking based on your level. If you want to get your degree at University of Colorado Boulder (CU Boulder), work toward completing all Level 8 (advanced) courses, which allows you to satisfy the university’s English language proficiency requirement without taking the IELTS, TOEFL, or Duolingo exams. 

To begin, take our ESL Placement Test to find out your level and enroll in an online class. You’ll need to take the test again in person to verify your current level if you want to continue your studies in person or matriculate to CU Boulder.
