Liza Getches

Liza Getches grew up in Boulder and returned to her hometown shortly after her dad, David’s passing in 2011.  Liza has two sons, David and Owen Verner, and spends as much time outside with them, and her dog Lucy, as possible.  Liza is a seasoned trial attorney and a partner at Shoemaker Ghiselli + Schwartz LLC, where she represents clients in a broad array of complex commercial disputes with a focus on employment litigation. 

Liza has been practicing law since 2003, starting her career in Denver at Moye White LLP.  Liza has been recognized by Super Lawyers from 2017 through 2024.   In addition to her litigation work, Liza is bilingual in English and Spanish.

Outside the courtroom, Liza is committed to supporting the Boulder community and has served on several boards including the Colorado Music Festival, Thistle, and the Boulder Improvement District.
