John Weisheit

John Weisheit is a co-founder of Living Rivers based in Moab, Utah in year 2000. In 2002, John became a member of the Waterkeeper Alliance and serves this international organization as the Colorado Riverkeeper. John’s immediate family have enjoyed the benefits of the Colorado River Basin since 1953. He is a professional river guide and interpreter of natural and human history since 1980. His contributions as an author include a book about the rivers of Canyonlands National Park, and various journals for academia, museums and trade associations.  Since 1990, John has completed about 75 science-based expeditions to assess the long-term impacts of water and energy development on the Colorado River, with a special emphasis on the Colorado Plateau.
