Language Classes Operations Assistant

Job Description: 

The Anderson Language and Technology Center (ALTEC) is currently seeking a Language Classes Operations Assistant. This person will typically work 8-15 hours per week between 9:00am-6pm Monday-Friday, depending on scheduling needs. This position will also conduct work in ALTEC’s community space, The HIVE, and will assist with tasks related to ALTEC’s non-credit language classes.

Core Job Duties:  

Operational Support during Class Registration Windows: 

  • Monitor CVENT registration reports and add information to spreadsheets daily
  • Tag students and add new patron information correctly in Mailchimp daily
  • Assist with tech support issues and customer concerns
  • Assist with enrolling/Unenrolling patrons in Canvas courses
  • Inventory Canvas course content and report findings to supervisor
  • Meet with Language Classes Program Coordinator as needed

Language Classes Marketing:  

  • Create and send monthly email newsletters through MailChimp
  • Conceptualize unique marketing ideas for ALTEC Language Classes
  • Promote Language Classes on social media and in-person via presentations and event tabling
  • Promote Language Classes via email campaigns to specific audiences
  • Track marketing effort results via project management software
  • Post Qualtrics surveys in Canvas courses at the end of class sessions
  • Collect and analyze post-course survey data, and prepare reports on student feedback and course evaluations
  • Share reports with Language Classes Program Coordinator

Patron Services at The HIVE: 

  • Assist patrons with checking out resource materials
  • Support event set up and breakdown
  • Direct patrons to classroom and office locations
  • Provide suggestions on areas of improvement based on patron feedback
  • Carry out opening, closing, daily operational office tasks
  • Contribute to workflow of special projects as assigned.

Compensation and Benefits

Compensation for this role is $17.69 hourly.  Sick leave is available for this position. Additional information can be found on the human resources website.
