Your Impact in Action

The ALTEC scholarship made attending a Spanish course possible for me. I am an international graduate student and my research projects require me to conduct field research in the Caribbean. Learning Spanish will allow me to communicate with local researchers and support staff, and immerse myself into local culture. I really appreciate that ALTEC provided the opportunity to me.

ALTEC’s language class scholarship means the world to me. As someone who dreams to work on environmental conservation projects around the world, having the skills to communicate with Spanish-speaking researchers and community members is invaluable. ALTEC’s financial support has given me the opportunity to build these Spanish language skills and come closer to my dream. Thank you so much!

After graduating college, keeping my mind sharp through learning was a priority for me. One of my goals has always been to learn Chinese, and I figured the ALTEC language program would be a suitable environment to learn Chinese in very practical and straight-forward methods while also engaging in the culture and the history. The program has provided just that: an excellent teacher, an engaging environment, and a new-found eagerness to learn the language. I am beyond grateful for this program and the opportunity I have to learn a beautiful language alongside my peers. Without the scholarship, this simply would not have been possible. I owe a lot to this scholarship, and I do not take this opportunity lightly.
