Abstract:
Prompted by diverse biological applications, we consider ODEs with randomly switching right-hand sides and PDEs and SDEs with randomly switching boundary conditions. In this talk, I will describe the tools for analyzing these systems and show how they can answer questions in neuroscience, physiology, biochemistry, and cellular transport. Special attention will be given to establishing mathematical connections between these three classes of stochastic processes.
