Dr. Anne Dougherty, Associate Chair of Applied Mathematics, received two awards during the spring 2014 term. The Burton W. Jones Distinguished Teaching Award was established in 1991 by Board of Governors of the Mathematical Association of America to recognize "extraordinarily successful teachers of mathematics at the post-secondary level." Dr. Dougherty also received the Marinus Smith Award from the CU Parents Association. This award recognizes "those faculty and staff members who have had a particularly positive impact on our undergraduates." Applied Mathematics congratulates Dr. Dougherty on both these awards and recognizes her outstanding contributions to the department and to mathematical education.
