Transferring to a new school can feel exciting but also a little overwhelming. As a transfer student, you have access to the Transfer Student Community, which provides events, resources and other support to make your transition smooth and positive. Here are tips to make the most of your time at CU Boulder.

Each semester, the Transfer Student Community hosts events specifically for transfer students to meet fellow Buffs, get involved and have fun. You can also check out other campus events to help you find your place and explore your interests. Attending campus events is an excellent opportunity to try new things, participate in fun activities and even get to know others you might not otherwise have had the chance to meet. Sign up for the Transfer Buffs newsletter to learn about upcoming events.

Find support from a transfer peer mentor

You don’t have to figure it all out on your own. You can find support through the Transfer Student Peer Mentorship Program. Transfer peer mentors assist incoming transfer students with the transition to CU Boulder. The transfer peer mentors can connect you to campus resources and help you navigate the transfer student experience. Because they are current CU Boulder students, they understand what it’s like to manage academics and activities while trying to meet people and learn the way around campus.

Email transferbuffs@colorado.edu to ask questions and schedule a meeting with a mentor.

CU Boulder offers many resources to help students find their way academically and socially, and with overall well-being. As a transfer student, you need to understand the transfer credit process to know what courses to take for your current degree program. The Transfer Student Community can help you with this process and link you to other resources to help answer your questions about finances, housing, involvement and more.

Get involved on campus

Sometimes, to make a big school feel like home, it helps to find your group of people.

Getting involved can help you meet friends, discover interests and hobbies and even explore different career paths. Here are a few of the many possibilities to check out this semester.
