The Residence Hall Association (RHA) is the student leadership and advocacy organization for students living in CU Boulder residence halls. 

Through Community Councils (CoCos), students have opportunities to create programs, advocate for their peers, develop leadership skills, and shape the residential experience. Whether planning events, building traditions, addressing student concerns, or fostering belonging within residence hall communities, RHA empowers students to make a meaningful impact where they live. 

RHA exists to help students find community, develop leadership skills, and create opportunities that enhance the residential experience for all students. 

Haunted Halls

Do you like to be scared? Join us for the annual RHA Haunted Halls where we turn one of the residence spaces into a haunted house.

 

Shamrock Showdown

Join RHA for our Shamrock Showdown–campus' premiere St. Patrick's Day competition. Come out and enjoy fun games, compete against your friends, grab a bite of some yummy food and have the chance to win prizes. Best part ... it's all free!

Get Involved

If you are interested in getting involved, you can learn more by attending your residence hall’s community council meeting.

The Community Council (COCO) empowers residents to shape their hall experience through programming, advocacy, and leadership. COCO positions include:

  • COCO Chairperson: Serves as the lead representative of the hall’s COCO board. They set agendas, guide weekly meetings, maintain communication with RHA and advocate for resident needs. As a voting member of RHA, the Chair builds relationships with staff, upholds inclusive leadership practices and represents their community in larger conversations.
  • Community Ambassador: Builds a welcoming, inclusive hall culture by collaborating with residents and promoting civic engagement and social responsibility.
  • Event Chair: Plans and leads COCO events, from idea to execution. Coordinates logistics, proposals, and event calendars while ensuring community-wide involvement.
  • Equipment & Supplies Chair: Manages event materials and storage, submits purchase requests, tracks spending, and ensures smooth event setup and teardown.
  • Marketing & Social Media Chair: Promotes events through digital and print media, manages social accounts, and ensures inclusive outreach that reflects community values.

Meetings are weekly on Tuesdays in the Kittredge Multipurpose Rooms from 6-7 p.m.

RHA Board of Directors

  • Director for Leadership Development (DLD): Supports leadership development initiatives across all residential leadership programs.
  • Director for Advocacy and Student Voice (DASV): Launches advocacy and programming initiatives on behalf of Residence Hall students, with a focus on the student experience, hall infrastructure, and institutional policies
  • Director for Inclusion and Social Justice (DISJ): Promotes inclusion within the residential communities and advocates for support systems for historically excluded student populations.
  • Director for Signature Events (DSE): Coordinates and facilitates large scale and traditional events hosted by the RHA or events hosted in collaboration with RHA.
  • Director for Neighborhood Events (DNE): Coordinates and facilitates small scale events hosted by the RHA or events hosted in collaboration with RHA.

Compensation

  • RHA Board of Director members and the NRHH Executive Board members are compensated in the form of:
    • a free room accommodation
    • 19 meals a week and $150 Munch Money or 15 meals a week and $200 Munch Money
    • $115 biweekly stipend
