Our Institute values convergence and collaboration between strands. Our theme leads meet bi-weekly, which results in an increased shared awareness of major activities across the Institute. This helps our teams members to identify greater collaboration opportunities, reduce redundancies, and focus on our mission to build deep conceptual and socio-collaborative learning experiences for all students. Through internal community events and trainings, we raise awareness of the different facets of iSAT’s research, drive greater participation in iSAT’s programs; and develop stronger relationships and collaboration between iSAT’s members. By nurturing and growing the next generation of talent, our iSAT undergrads better understand their roles at iSAT and feel more integrated into the Institute.

Cross-strand Collaboration
We focused on cross-strand convergence during a three-day Design Sprint and two day Design Convergence meeting, resulting in our AI Partner metaphors and prototypes based on the metaphors. These events develop stronger relationships and collaboration between iSAT’s members.
Early Career Scholar Forum
This is an example of one of our professional development programs that helps our students, post docs, and research scientists who are early on in their career. These forums have covered topics including how to craft effective presentations, qualitative research protocols, and more
Cross-strand Workshops and Trainings
Trainings and workshops including a Games Unit workshop, Sensor Immersion workshop, ethics training, and data collection training, drive greater participation in our programs and increase collaboration and awareness across strands.
