Kelly is a Junior at CU, double majoring in Economics and Political Science. When she’s not working at the Fitwell desk here at The Rec, you’ll usually find Kelly on the turf field, as she’s a huge fan of the Turf Fit exercises. Otherwise, she enjoys running and following the workouts she learned while playing for the Club Ultimate Frisbee team. After a workout, Kelly makes sure to fuel up with lots of protein and prioritizes stretching to keep soreness at bay. Staying motivated can be a challenge, but Kelly credits her roommates and her job at The Rec with keeping her on track and helping her avoid the temptation to skip a workout.

Kelly spends most of her time hiking or going on weekend trips with the Kayak Club at CU. In the summers, Kelly is an outdoor trip instructor, and leads kayaking trips in the Alaskan backcountry. These trips allow her to put her hard work at The Rec to good use, and share her love of the outdoors with others. The challenge and responsibility of leading these trips motivates Kelly to be in the best shape she can be.

Kelly suggests that when it comes to finding the motivation to get started at The Rec, all that really matters is that you get yourself here and that you try not to be intimidated. “Everyone is here for the same reason”, she says, “and doing anything at The Rec is better than doing nothing at home”.
