August Active Buff of the Month: JP Giblin
JP Giblin is a senior in Philosophy at CU, and a member of the CU Triathlon team. JP incorporates physical activity into his daily routine alongside the team, practicing twice a day with a swim, bike, or run workout. JP’s favorite activity at the Rec is swimming in the lap pool.
His first big endurance race came right out of high school when he signed up on a whim, trained for 9 months, and participated in an Ironman as one of the youngest competitors! Since then, he’s competed in many races, including the incredibly challenging Leadville 100.
JP suggests making exercise a routine in order to increase your amount of physical activity. The first two weeks will really push you, but by the third he swears it will become a part of your natural rhythm. As long as you have a long-term mindset, you will succeed.
JP hopes to run a 200-mile race sometime in the future, continuing to push the boundaries of what he thinks is possible.
